Winding Down on the Town
Day whatever-it-is of HotDocs and I am winding down (literally, figuratively and, it seems, mentally). I saw 2 screenings yesterday, bringing my overall total to 19. The first one, Wild Art, was good but not great. But the second one though was a complete disaster. Not the film, but my own idiocy in attending inattentively. I wanted to see 2 films, but both were screening at 7:15pm. So I decided on one and not the other. However I ended up going to the wrong theatre by mistake, and so when the curtain went up I realized I was about to see Love In India and not Rise Up, which was the film I really wanted to see. Oy!! Vatta schmuck. The film I saw was OK though, so in the end I didn’t fook up completely, but it was a bit of a lame mistake on my part.
Afterwards I went with Heavy D to the HotDocs post-awards reception and as per usual ran into some familiar faces, and a few new ones including, belle of the ball, a stunning redhead named Eva who turned out to be the star of the film 65_RedRoses. I knew I had to add her flick to my screening wish list. Yum!
